Worthy of our one hundred year history, our Gala Gala* promises to be a one of a kind event, celebrating the rich Legacy of Service of the American Business Club with all the things our Club is known for, an all-in, Shoulders Together production, a recognition of our part in—and responsibility to—the community, and our usual all-out commitment to having fun.
The Venue Has Changed!
Our home away from home is the Illinois State Fair and we are proud to be hosting our capstone event at the Illinois Building, which dates to 1949, just 24 years after our founding. Use the East entrance to the Illinois Building—across from the Giant Slide—to find your way to the ABC100 Speakeasy to start your celebration. There will be a drop-off lane at the sidewalk to the front door to save those fancy high heels from any January weather and plenty of parking will be in Happy Hollow.
Our Evening
We’ll start, not surprisingly for ABC, with cocktails in our exclusive ABC100 Speakeasy. Signature drinks and your favorites are served by Just the Basics Mobile Bar. From there, we move to a full-service dinner, artfully crafted just for our guests by Bloom Hospitality and Catering. We will have a short program spotlighting the 100th Anniversary of our Charter as a Chapter of the National Association of American Business Clubs and a “Social” to celebrate. Formalities then aside, the party starts with Revel in Red, one of the hottest bands in Central Illinois.

A limited number of Sponsored Tables are available. They include Reserved Premium Seating, 8 seats for dinner, and mention in our commemorative program, our video at dinner, and social media. Tables of 8 are $1,000.

Important: We are using Givebutter.com to process our registrations. They do not charge a fee to ABC, but you will notice an “Add a tip…” section. This is pre-filled by Givebutter to 15% and this is how they are able to offer this service to non-profits. You can skip this or make it a different amount by clicking the 15% and choosing Other. There are no fees to send a check. If you click on that option, you will see instructions for mailing.
When you order and pay through the website, you will receive an email receipt and copies of “tickets.” YOU DO NOT NEED TO BRING PAPER TICKETS. We will check you in from our list at the door.
*We say our “Gala Gala” is an event so nice, we named it twice. The truth, though, is that our committee couldn’t agree on what the correct pronunciation of “gala” is. So, in the interest of fellowship, we just say it both ways.
